“Youthful and Useful” YDoS 2022
Every 12th of August is commemorated as International Youths Day. This day is meant to empower young people to participate in public life so that they are prepare and equipped to contribute to society’s development. Youths are important tool to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We must collaborate with all generation in order to foster successful relation and partnerships to ensure no one is left behind. The world needs youths to be the leaders of tomorrow and to achieve this, they must be educated and empowered.

With the theme of this year “Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a world for all ages” reminds us of the role we have to creating this world. Young people are vibrant, innovative, creative and smart. Let’s protect, promote and involve them in all developmental issues.


The Centre for the Advancement of Women’s Initiatives (CAWI) educated youths of Ekona, Muea, Bomaka, Mile 16 and Mile 14 on; Puberty, Body image and Menstruation, Abstinence, sexually transmitted diseases and Relationships and Gender Based Violence. 107 children were empowered on sexual education which was an interesting and important topic. Young people are the hope of the future, lets give them the right ingredients for a better and more sustainable tomorrow.
