For over 5 years, there has been increased intensity of the crises in the NW and SW Regions of Cameroon resulting to the displacement of over 700,000 civilians to neighbouring countries, urban towns, French-speaking regions and the bushes (forests).
Considering the uncertainty of a speedy solution, ERuDeF through CAWI has initiated the humanitarian programme to assist the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Anglophone Regions of Cameroon and IDPs in the French-speaking parts of Cameroon especially West and Littoral Regions.
In terms of the Humanitarian program scope and components, CAWI shall operate two functional identification centres;
The Humanitarian program components include; the IDP component managed by CAWI, the Biodiversity in crises component managed by the department of conservation in ERuDeF and, the Child-soldier component managed by CAWI.
The IDP component shall seek to assist IDPs in the domains of; protection/gender-based violence/psychosocial counseling, shelter and non-food items, nutrition/health, food security, food distribution, WASH, Education and, Early/Economic Recovery.
The child-soldier component seeks to achieve the following;
Due to the current crisis in Cameroon, the population is forced to run into protected forest areas for safety causing destruction of biodiversity and protected habitat.
