On the 2nd of July 2022 report has it that Mada hospital in the Far North Region of Cameroon was attacked by suspected boko haram assailants leaving behind a dead guard, injured patients and 2 vehicles ablaze. Other sources said 3 government forces are missing. Their motive was not known as non of them were caught. This has left many persons speechless as this is a second attacked of another hospital in Cameroon within a month. First was the Mamfe hospital set completely on fire and now the Mada hospital.
Mada hospital is said to be the only hospital whose doctors could perform war surgery. Most patients have to move to Kousseri and Makary for treatment after a temporal shutdown of the Mada hospital. The far north region Cameroon has suffered terror attacks related to the activities of Boko Haram and Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). Access to health care has been an issue in this region as result of long period of violence and this attack again has deprived the population with urgent need of health care. The entire population are speechless because these hospitals been attacked and destroyed are meant to keep the entire sick community safe and treat them. But when health is compromise it means its left for everyone to die.
The president has send a team for further investigation.
