Since the beginning of the Anglophone crisis in 2016, many civilians have suffered great loss in lives and properties caused by both the military and Armed Separatist Fighters. In the said “Ambazonian territories” in the North West and South West Regions of Cameroon, they have subdued many civilians under their rule throughconstant threats. They now rule the land according to their principles. Though initially separatist fighters were said to be protecting civilians against alleged military fighters, these days, most of them are reportedly terrorizing local villages and robbing villagers of their properties and even killing many.

In Malende, a village in Kumba III district, a said “General Armor Car” has been reported to continually terrorize many villagers. This has made villagers live in constant fear. Many of them are said to have been fed up with his terrorism.

On April 5, 2020, Derrick Forchap popularly known as “General Armor Car” was caught by an angry crowd in Bonakama District in Kumba ISub Division, Meme Division.  He was later handed over to the National Gendarmerie in Buea-Road Kumba.

Open sources say “General Armor Car” would have continued terrorizing the local population if he was not captured. It was also reported that before he was handed over, he revealed he came to Bonakama to prevent bar owners from selling Brasseries Products which have been banned in “Ambazonia”. He said he was carrying out an order from a separatist fighter abroad, to investigate all bar owners selling these products. He added that he cannot remember the number of civilians and soldiers he has taken their lives.

It should be noted that Bonakama is just one of the many villages which have sworn to eliminate any suspected “Amba elements” because they are fed up of being constantly terrorized.  Their youths collaborate with military to put an end to such terrorism.
